What causes facial hair loss?
There are a number of things can cause facial bald patches, including:
- Alopecia barbae – this is an autoimmune condition that occurs when the body’s own system attacks the facial hair follicles, causing hair to fall out.
- Acne scarring.
- Damage from burns/scalds.
We know that any form of thinning hair or hair loss can have significant effects on confidence and mental health, also causing anxiety and stress. When hair loss is on your face, this can be particularly upsetting because it is so visible and difficult to conceal.
Facial Micropigmentation procedure
The facial micropigmentation treatment is very similar to scalp micropigmentation, where a natural pigment is applied to the epidermal layer of the skin in the form of many dots, replicating the appearance of natural hair follicles or stubble. Facial micropigmentation is carried out with an electric tattoo device and specialised needles that ensure the pigmentation blends seamlessly with your own facial hair and natural colouring.
It is also a very effective treatment for covering scars and areas of damaged skin. The number of sessions you will require depends on the level of hair loss and the area of skins that requires treatment. This will be discussed in your initial consultation, before we begin treatment.
The overall look of facial pigmentation is completely natural and undetectable to the untrained eye. Just take a look at our gallery to see the results!
